After Living in the German capital and about to turn 50, Archi Galentz has decided to mark the event with a special art exhibition. Called “Private Club”, and unlike others, the event is only a private gathering of friends and associates. Galentz has said that the reason for hosting a small number of people isn’t only because of the pandemic but also that “it is inappropriate to celebrate loudly and brightly at the moment when your homeland self-destructs and dissolves in dreams of hidden potentials.”The friends and family attending the event will see 8 projects, each from a different creative period that still inhabits Galentz’s thoughts and activity. Galentz was born in 1971 in Moscow, into a family of Armenian artists. He attended the State University of Arts and Theatre in Yerevan and 3 years later began attending class as a visiting student at the University of Arts in Berlin, followed by a master’s degree in 1997. He has taken part in over 80 group exhibitions, curated over 20 exhibitions and held numerous solo shows since 2000. In 2012 he received the Arshile Gorky medal from the Armenian Ministry of Diaspora Affairs.
