Krikor Beledian is a French Armenian poet, novelist, and literary critic living in France. He was born in Beirut in 1945.
His extensive work centers on themes of identity, the Armenian Genocide, and the Armenian language. Beledian has played a significant role in the development of the Western Armenian literary language.
Beledian is the author of more than 30 volumes that have been published in the Middle East, Europe, the United States, and Armenia. For the last half-century, he has chosen to write almost exclusively in Western Armenian, a UN-designated endangered language.
