Isabel Bayrakdarian is a Canadian-Armenian operatic soprano born in Zahlé, Lebanon, in 1974. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering with honors from the University of Toronto in 1997 but switched to singing after winning a Metropolitan Opera National Council Award the same year. Her voice was featured in the Grammy-winning soundtrack of ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers’ and the multiple award-winning Canadian-Armenian film ‘Ararat.’
Today, she continues to celebrate the rich legacy of music, often joined by her concert-pianist husband Serouj Keradjian, performing international and Armenian pieces to worldwide audiences.
