Bulgaria’s newest Armenian church serves first mass

On Sunday, June 12 the first mass was served in the newly built Surb Astvatsatsin Armenian church in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia.
Father Gusan Hadavyan, the spiritual leader of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Sofia, served the mass in the church, the construction of which had begun in 2006.

The church was built thanks to donors, the church board and the Armenian youth, and the process was facilitated by the Municipality of Sofia and directorate of Religious Affairs of the Bulgarian Council of Ministers.

According to initial reports, the official opening and consecration of the church will take place in September 2022.
