Drafting of Armenia’s largest solar park to begin in 2023

Work on the establishment of the largest solar park in Armenia will begin in a few months, Hayk Tadevosyan, a specialist of the Armenian National Interest Foundation (ANIF), told journalists on Thursday, May 19, Sputnik Armenia reports.

Named Ayg-1, the station will be built near the village of Ashnak and become the largest one in the country. ANIF and the investors are planning to start drafting at the beginning of 2023 latest, and put it into operation by 2025.

In 2019, Masdar and the Armenian National Interest Fund CJSC (ANIF) entered a joint development agreement to add 400 MW of solar PV capacity in Armenia, half of which will come from said project.
