Sixteen Armenian high schools will offer AI education starting in September

Sixteen high schools from 6 different regions and Yerevan will execute the “Generation AI” pilot program starting in September 2023. Based on the open competition, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (MoESCS) has approved the list of winning schools. Instead of the planned 10, this educational program will be carried out in 16 schools.

The project was developed by the Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology (FAST) and is being implemented in partnership with the MoESCS with active involvement of other stakeholders within the ecosystem and the private sector.

In the current academic year, two educational institutions from Armavir marz, one from Gegharkunik, three from Lori, four from Kotayk, one from Syunik, two from Shirak, and three from Yerevan will become part of the program, granting access to AI education to more than 200 students.

The program is developed through large-scale collaboration between local and diaspora expert groups. The pilot phase of the program is scheduled to launch from September 1, 2023, to August 2026, with a plan to be expanded on a national level to a larger group of students.

“Generation AI” school program is supported by the Advance Armenia Global Campaign.
