Armenia’s Police Department reports that 19,630 foreign citizens applied for Armenian citizenship in the first ten months of this year, and that 14,661 applicants are from Russia.
According to police data, ninety-seven per cent of all applicants are of Armenian extraction.
1,715 Georgian citizens applied for Armenian citizenship, followed by Lebanon; 1,045, Syria; 528, Iran; 456, the US; 220, and Ukraine; 225.
8,591 foreigners applied for Armenian citizenship last year.
